...Of Mangere, Auckland, NZ!
While in Sydney to participate in the 2009 World Masters Games Lee-Ann visited the New Zealand Masters Games promotional stand and entered the lucky prize draw.
Lee-Ann is now the proud owner of a nifty compact digital camera.
Lee-Ann was in Sydney with her womans 35+ B Grade netball team and overcome the best efforts of 14 other teams in their grade to earn a creditable silver medal.
For Lee-Ann and her team it was their first World Masters and they would have been in the awe of the sheer scale of the event with our 1100 netballers competing the Games as part of the 32,000 particpants attending the week long event.
Nicknamed the 'Masters Virgins' for admitting this was their first Masters event, Lee-Ann's team has defintely been bitten by the Masters bug and are already planning a trip to a New Zealand Masters Games as well as casting a distant eye on the next World Masters Games to be held in Italy in 2013.
"We absolutly loved it" said Lee-Ann when asked about her experience at a Masters games. "We've already started planning for the next one."
Games Manager Mike Cronin who was on the promotion stand at Sydney was also impressed by the number of people there for the Games. "We spoke to literally thousands of people from all over the world."
We look forward to welcoming Lee-Ann and her team at the next New Zealand Masters Games for a truely kiwi experience and we may even get to see more team photos now that she has that camera in her sports bag.
